Enabling a Mobile Workflow Solution to Improve User Experience

Business Challenge 

Rio Tinto required a rewritten workflow system that was mobile-enabled and improved customer experience, as the existing system had default text which was difficult for business users to understand. The system also needed to utilise SAP Portal with WebDynPro – Universal Inbox.

 The Solution 

DalRae Solutions designed and implemented a solution utilising SAP Fiori to enable mobile access. Key components included: 

  • Implementing Fiori MyInbox 
  • Converting 25 key workflows and custom attachments / tables to Fiori to allow Fiori MyInbox to function correctly 
  • Enabling mobility by converting existing HR Timesheet to Fiori  
  • Delivered a Proof of Concept (POC) SAP PM solution with 3D modelling for Rail Car brake replacements. 
Leveraged cloud platform capabilities to extend core SAP system.
Enabled remote business users to be fully mobile enabled by updating data once back within internet range.
Provided additional value by delivering POC with 3D modelling capability to address user experience issues.
